How Toolmivo converts PDF pages to JPG
Toolmivo uses browser-based PDF rendering. Each page is drawn as visual content and then exported as a JPG image according to your selected resolution and JPG quality. When the document contains several pages, the generated images are packaged together into a ZIP file for a simpler download.

Resolution
What does the PDF to JPG resolution setting change?
Resolution controls how large each PDF page is rendered before it becomes a JPG. Higher settings create more pixels and can preserve finer details, but they also increase memory use, conversion time and file size.
Standard — 1×
A practical choice for previews, quick sharing and situations where smaller image dimensions are more important than maximum detail.
High — 1.5×
The default balance between detail, speed and output size for many everyday PDF documents.
Very high — 2×
Produces larger page images and can help when the PDF contains smaller text, diagrams or details that need to remain clearer.
Maximum — 3×
Creates the largest render size. It can provide more detail but requires more browser memory and may take significantly longer on large PDFs.
JPG quality
How JPG quality affects the result
JPG is a lossy image format, which means the image can be compressed by discarding some visual information. A higher quality setting usually preserves more page detail and produces a larger file. A lower setting usually creates a smaller JPG but can introduce compression artefacts around text, lines and detailed graphics.
Lower JPG quality
Useful when small output files matter more than perfect visual detail.
Higher JPG quality
Better when text, screenshots, diagrams or detailed page graphics need to remain as clear as possible.
Tip: increasing JPG quality cannot restore detail that is already
missing from the original PDF page. The output quality is always limited by the source.
Resolution vs quality
Resolution and JPG quality are different settings
Resolution controls the number of pixels used to render a PDF page, while JPG quality controls how aggressively that rendered image is compressed. A high-resolution image can still look poor if JPG quality is set too low, and a high-quality JPG cannot create extra detail if the page was rendered at a very low resolution.
Need more detail?
Increase resolution first, especially for small text and diagrams.
Need smaller files?
Reduce JPG quality or use a lower resolution, then check whether the result still looks clear enough.

Why are converted pages downloaded as a ZIP file?
A PDF can contain dozens or hundreds of pages. Downloading every JPG individually would require many separate browser downloads, so Toolmivo packages the generated page images into one ZIP archive. After downloading, extract the ZIP on your computer or mobile device to access the individual JPG files.
What changes
What happens to text, links and PDF features?
PDF to JPG creates visual images of the pages. The JPG files preserve the visible appearance of each rendered page, but they do not remain PDF documents. Searchable text, selectable text, form fields, annotations and clickable links are not interactive inside a JPG image.
Important: keep the original PDF when you need searchable text,
copy-and-paste, forms, links or other document functionality.
Large documents
Why high-resolution conversion can use a lot of memory
Every PDF page must be rendered into an in-memory image before it can be encoded as JPG. Higher resolution produces larger pixel buffers, and multi-page documents require repeated rendering work. A long PDF converted at Maximum resolution can therefore use significant browser memory and take much longer than the same PDF converted at Standard or High resolution.
- Start with High if you are unsure which resolution to use.
- Use Maximum only when the extra detail is actually needed.
- Close unnecessary browser tabs if a large conversion is running slowly.
- Consider smaller batches if your device struggles with very large PDFs.
JPG limitations
When JPG may not be the ideal output format
JPG works well for page previews, photographs and general-purpose images, but it uses lossy compression. Pages dominated by very small text, line art or graphics with sharp edges may show compression artefacts at lower quality settings. If you need editable text or fully preserved PDF features, keep the original PDF rather than replacing it with image files.

The PDF pages are rendered in your browser. Toolmivo does not need to send the selected document to a separate conversion server for this tool to create the JPG files. Actual processing speed depends on the page count, page complexity, selected resolution, selected JPG quality and the performance of your device.
