Page size
A4 pages or original image size?
Page size changes how each source image is placed inside the final PDF. Choose A4 when you want a more standard document layout, or Original image size when you want the PDF page dimensions to follow the proportions of the source image.
A4
Places each image on a standard A4-style PDF page. This is convenient for documents intended for normal office printing or consistent page dimensions.
Original image size
Creates a page based on the image dimensions instead of forcing every page into the same A4 layout.
Image proportions are preserved: Toolmivo fits images proportionally
rather than stretching them, so the original aspect ratio is maintained.
Margins
Why PDF margins matter
Margins create space between an image and the edge of the PDF page. A larger margin can give scans or photos a cleaner document-style appearance, while no margin lets the image use as much of the page area as possible.
No margin
Useful when you want the image to occupy the maximum available page area.
10 mm
A balanced default that adds clear spacing around the image without reducing the usable page area too much.
20 mm
Creates a wider border around the image and can work well for more formal document layouts.
Choose based on the source
Photos may look better with a border, while full-page document scans may benefit from smaller margins.
Image order
Why the order of images matters
Each selected image becomes a PDF page. The order of the files therefore determines the page sequence in the finished document. Before creating the PDF, arrange the images in the same order that you want a reader to see them.

Put page one first, followed by page two, page three and the remaining scans.

Quality and layout
How image size and resolution affect the PDF
The final PDF still depends on the quality of the source images. A blurry or low-resolution scan will not become sharper simply because it is placed in a PDF. Large source images can also produce larger PDF files. For document scans, use images that are clear enough to read but not unnecessarily oversized.
- Check small text before conversion. Make sure it is readable in the original image.
- Use consistent orientation where possible. Mixed portrait and landscape pages can create an uneven document.
- Crop unnecessary borders before converting if they make the page look untidy.
- Keep originals for important records in case you later need the source images.
PDF vs separate images
Why combine images into one PDF?
A single PDF can be easier to manage than a collection of separate image files. It preserves page order, gives the recipient one file to open and is widely accepted by document portals, email workflows and office software. Images are still useful when each file needs to be edited or reused separately, so keep the original files when that flexibility matters.
