How to print sequential barcode labels from 1 to 100

Learn how to prepare a numbered barcode series, choose an A4 layout and test labels before bulk printing.

Set the barcode before the range

Start in the Barcode tab. Choose the format, bar width, bar height, margin, colours and whether the human-readable value should appear below the bars. These settings will be reused for every value in the series.

Define start, end and step

For a simple run from 1 to 100, set the start to 1, the end to 100 and the step to 1. A step of 2 would create 1, 3, 5 and so on. Check that the chosen format accepts every number in the range. Numeric-only formats are suitable for numeric series, while mixed prefixes require a format such as CODE128 or CODE39 and a different generation method.

Choose labels per A4 page

The layout controls the physical space available to each label. One label per page is useful for a large sign. Four or eight can suit large warehouse labels. Higher counts are intended for smaller stickers. The browser print preview should show the page breaks before paper is used.

Print one page first

1. Open the series print preview.
2. Select A4 portrait unless your label stock requires another setting.
3. Use 100% scale initially.
4. Disable browser headers and footers.
5. Print only the first page.

Measure the printed result and test several values with the real scanner. The first, middle and last labels are useful checks. Once the sample page is correct, print the remaining pages.

Keep a record of the range

For operational work, note the printed range, date, format and label layout. This reduces the risk of duplicate labels when another batch is produced later.
